Dane, Bron and Koosh - Common Edit

Some badass musical bombs have been dropping left right and center the past few weeks. The new venture by the Kolour boys is nothing short of magical and has me more or less frothing at the mouth like some sort of sick primate; I have yet to receive this beast in the post but I know once I get it it'll be getting the full-on rinse cycle on the ones and twos. Similarly, although in a slightly different vein is the new Freekwency record on Voyeurhythm. This mid-tempo electro-boogie monster is another snappy and ultra-fresh sounding record that we've had on repeat for a while here at SB HQ.

But the latest addition to my arsenal is the newest output by the mysterious 7IOL camp. Following in the footsteps of the hand-stamped-with-love Canadian imprint that put out 7 glorious little collectors items in the past few years, comes a new and similar venture. Dane, Bron and Koosh bring us CE001- the first in the Common Edit series. "Is That a Drunk" on the A is a playful dizzy, erm..drunken romp with a Tom Waits-esque slurred vocal. If you were at all into Kid Koala's stuff years ago (this one immediately reminded me of Drunk Trumpet) you'll love this tune I think. The B side is my pick though, "Jackin The Mann": a deep, swirling, twisted mid-tempo disco house affair that keeps suspense throughout and seriously invites dancefloor mayhem. Honestly can't wait to rock this one...have a listen:

This is the first in the series with only 250 pressed up so grab one HERE while they're around. Lovely stuff.
